U.S.S. Enterprise (TOS)

This kit is the largest injection molded plastic model available of the Enterprise (so far). It features several improvements over their 1966 18 inch long offering, but still has many incorrectly shaped parts and missing features. DMLs resin aftermarket set was used to greatly improve the accuracy. Two decal sets JT Graphics was also used. A special mix of Model Master light gray-77% (No. 1732) and Model Master light ghost gray-23% (No. 1728) was used for the base color. Weathering was added with weak washes of various grays and gray and brown pastel dust. Several thin coats of Future were airbrushed at 50psi to seal the decals and produce a uniform, semi-gloss finish that had only a slight sheen.
