Invisible Man

By Murray Gayski

I completed between Christmas and New Year. I had this kit stored in the kit room for a couple of month now and looking for something different to build over the holidays I gave it its start. All in all it is a good kit with very little problems; the only issue I had was the injector pin in the head. It was easily ground out with the new Dremel I received for Xmas.

I would suggest any one building this kit to have a read of the article in Sci.Fi & Fantasy Modeller volume 13 as there is some very important assembly guides you should follow to make your life a little easier.

There was only one small change I did. That was to paint the rats in the glass tank. They are shown to be clear (invisible) in the tank but I thing if you paint them people looking at the completed kit will know what they are.

Painting the model was quite simple with most of the kit painted with a brush. The coat was done a little different, something new I tried from the model shop: Testors Floquil Moss Green. It is a spray can that looks like concrete when sprayed. When I applied the first coat I was wondering "how am I ever going to get this stuff off?", but when it dried it gave the look I was looking for. Just a small observation - spray a under coat that matches the colour you are applying so spatter paint covers well.

In all it was a interesting a simple kit to build and a great talking point for New Years Eve.
