The CSS Bonefish and CSS Whelk are two fictional Confederate submarines from the Harry Turtledove alternate history novels about the great war in Timeline-191. Mine were made from the Maquette 1/400 kits of the D-6 and L-4 Russian submarines with any parts that could be swapped being exchanged and ensuring their originality. The two kits are great fun to build and highly recommendable.

The CSS Bonefish was a Confederate States submersible during the Great War, commanded by Roger Kimball. Under Kimball's command, the Bonefish achieved several notable feats, including daring raids up the Chesapeake Bay and into New York Harbor. However, 1917, the Bonefish achieved infamy when Kimball ordered the torpedoing the USS Ericsson after the war had ended. CSS Whelk was another Confederate submarine, former assignment of Junior Lieutenant Ralph Briggs.
