This diorama depicts the battle between HMS Thunderchild and two Martian War Machines, as described in the novel The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells and depicted on the cover of the rock opera album by Jeff Wayne. The Thunderchild was converted from a Revell USS Olympia kit. The significant modifications were to the funnels, turrets and masts. The Martian War Machines are completely scratch built. More pictures and description of the build can be found here |
